Latter-day Saint LGBTQ Resources

CHURCH RESOURCES:

Our church website has a lot of information to help families with LGBTQ+ members.  This is a good place to start.

This link will take you to the church's page for leaders on how to best counsel with members with Same Sex Attraction.

This link will take you to the church's page about understanding and supporting those who are Transgender.

Here are some additional online resources:

Listen, Learn, and Love is a podcast by Richard Ostler created to specifically give us a chance to hear the stories and struggles of our LGBTQ+ community in the church.  This link takes you to the online website.  You can find the podcast through any podcast app on your devices.

Ministering Resources to support LGBTQ+Latter-day Saints is a Facebook group designed to help the LDS community develop church-supported LGBTQ activities.  It is intended to be a safe place for active Latter-day Saints (both LGBTQ and allies) to give support to each other by sharing ideas of how to develop church-supported LGBTQ activities while at the same time being supportive of Church leaders and doctrine.

Questions from the Closet podcast was started by Charlie Bird and Ben Schilaty as a place to discuss questions they are commonly asked as gay members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each week they are joined by a guest to talk about a question as it relates to LGBTQ+ topics within the context of faith. Both men are active members of the church.

The Family Acceptance Project from San Francisco State University has created a pamphlet for LDS families: Family Education LDS Booklet that you can download from their site.  The booklet is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is intended to help us support our LGBTQ youth to reduce their health risks; including depression, suicide, substance abuse and HIV infection and to promote their well-being.

These posters by this same organization may also serve to help you.  You can right click on these to download them.
